33. In Memrik

          During the Revolution in 1918 Makhno, the commander of an army of anarchists in South Russia, and his bands inflicted great suffering on the settlement, murdering many inhabitants, and taking or destroying much property.
David and Agatha were trapped in their new home and David died of a heart attack.  This must have been a terrifying time for Agatha, who was alone again, so word was sent to Omsk for family members to come help her.  Daughter Maria had married in Ebenthal and died at the birth of her first child in 1918.  The child also died. But this news did not reach Omsk.
